My experience writing blogs

Imagen
The blog experience has been entertaining. I liked the idea of sharing things that fill the heart of each person, such as talking about books, our favorite food, or the series that we liked the most. In the latter I lacked space to develop everything I wanted to share, is that I love it! Also reading the little things that fill the hearts of our classmates is a beautiful experience, because many times these things you only share with your friends, but never with your classmates. In addition, having colleagues from other careers generates other ways of seeing the world, because they are interested in other subjects. I will be honest, some topics that I had to write did not please me very much, like the topic of the favorite study tool. I think it must have been because of the technical aspect of my tool, which is my cell phone. Something that happened to me throughout this course, is that I forgot many times to write blogs in advance. Most of the time it happened because...

My favorite food

Imagen
Hi. Today I talk about my favorite food the truth is that they are the Garbanzos Pelados that my mother prepares. Yes, I say my mom's chickpeas, because they are the ones I like the most, my favorites. I do not say it for being my mom's number one fan, but the truth is that I've eaten them in other places, but they're never as rich as those she cooks. My mother explains to me that, when cook this, to peel them, that is to say, to take out the skins, she throws a bit of baking soda, and it is because of this that they are so soft.  Even so, I have cooked them, following the secret tip that she shares with me, however, I manage to peel them but they stay more salty than normal, what a horror! Other ingredients that she add to this dish are very small chopped onions, rice, carrots and squash. And of course, she do not forget the oregano at the end. The problem I have when eating peeled chickpeas is that I always want to have a glass of drink too. The othe...

The Expression of Free Bleeding

Imagen
A normal day, as always, I was reviewing my Instagram account when I found a topic very interesting. It was the expression free bleeding, this refers to the choice of living the menstruation without using any bleeding collection product. I had heard this expression before, but I only knew one way of practicing it: 1) as a form of menstrual activism, letting blood flow in order to make menstruation visible and to question the way in which it is treated in our society and the place that occupies in it. The other way of practicing the expression of free bleeding that I did not know and that caught my attention was that of 2) listen to our body to know the moment in which it needs to evacuate the blood and then do it in the place that is decided. This way of menstruation impressed me because historically, the biggest problem of menstruation has been the inability to control it, this way of feeling it makes it amazing. We just have to learn to listen to our beautiful menstruating ...

My favorite search engine: Google Scholar

Imagen
The search engine I first turn to when I need a bibliography for a job is Google Scholar. This Google search engine is focused and specialized in scientific and academic literature. This website maintains a large number of publishers, libraries, magazine articles, books, theses, etc.  A very important feature of this website is that it shares scientific knowledge with anyone without the need to be part of the academic or scientific community. A very useful feature is the "advanced search", which can automatically filter the search results. Also, Google Scholar allows users to search for physical or digital copies of articles, either online or in libraries and if they need the reference in APA format, it can be obtained there.  Now, seeing some limitation, I say that there have been times when I do not find everything I need, for this I have had to resort to other search engines to find that specific. In short, it is an easy-to-use website, with many benefits as it shar...

Isabel Allende Llona

Imagen
Isabel Allende is my favorite writer. Being Chilean, she was born in 1942 in Lima, Peru. She is the daughter of Francisca Llona Barros and the diplomat Tomás Allende Pesse -Salvador Allende's cousin-. Her books have often started from a letter such as La casa de los espíritus (1982) -the best known-, which was originally written for her grandfather who was in Chile, when she lived in Venezuela. And the other book is Paula (1994) -my favorite-, which began as a letter for her sick daughter with the intention of telling her again her life story in case she did not remember anything when she awoke from the coma. This is why many catalog the work in the autobiographical genre, however, she indicates that it is more like a "memory", because it is a collection of memories closer to fiction than to reality. The last novel by Isabel Allende was released a few weeks ago and is called Largo Pétalo de Mar (2019), I still do not read it but I hope to do it soon.
